The Brief: The client wanted to announce to existing and prospective customers in the trade lighting, commercial and hospitality press about the merger between their two companies. CLD-Distribution – a specialist Commercial and Architectural LED lamps and lighting distributor was merging with Iberian Lighting – a market leader in oversized lampshades & special bespoke lighting luminaires. The key messages were; a) this was a friendly merger by two companies where a very good trading relationship and mutual respect already existed, b) the synergy between the two companies would benefit both their commercial and High-end residential clients and c) it would generate further expansion for both brands as it allowed them to make full use of the wider UK and international resources available and d) offer a full range of Commercial Decorative and LED lighting technology options to Lighting Designers, Architects, Specifiers and Consumers.
Outcome: We undertook the copywriting and production of a press release which was approved by the client. In addition to communicating the main messages we ensured that we were able to complie a library of high quality photos of lighting designs and of the management team for press use. Joseph acted as our copy writer owing to his lighting experience and crafted the content for the press release. He also has an extensive list of media contact’s in the commercial and consumer press and was able to approach and distribute the press release to targeted magazine and online titles. Press and social media coverage included Lighting Magazine & online, Total Lighting Magazine, LSi Online, Eat Drink Sleep Magazine and Hotel Industry online.
